Diablo IV: Blizzard is already working in two expansions
Rod Fergusson, producer of the Diablo series in Blizzard Entertainment, has revealed that the team is already developing two expansions for Diablo IV
Diablo IV is now available to all players, after the early access that those who pre-ordered the Deluxe and Ultimate digital editions have been enjoying, and many of them have been hitting the game very hard. So much so that there are already several who have reached level 100, so it is to be expected that most of them are already waiting for news about the additional content that is coming, something that Rod Fergusson, main producer of the game, has already talked about.
“We have to build things in parallel,” said Fergusson in during the Kinda Funny Games podcast, making it clear that they are working on more than just patches for Diablo IV. “Right now as I sit here we’re about to launch the main game, we’re finishing up season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on expansion one, we’re kicking off expansion two - all that’s happening right now.”
Work for the Diablo IV development team has only just begun, although Fergusson obviously talks about creating in a “sustainable” way. He ensures that as the release date approaches he can’t push his team to the limit until they reach collapse right at the end of the game, as there is still so much left to do.
When does Season 1 start?
Blizzard hopes that players have squeezed Diablo IV to some degree before mid and late July, when approximately the first season is set to start, with its corresponding battle pass. Season 2 is also scheduled to arrive during the month of October.
The free battle pass will have 27 ranks, while the Premium pass (1,000 Platinum or approximately $9.99) will have 63, with the possibility of getting the Premium Accelerated pass, which will arrive with the first 20 ranks already unlocked and a special cosmetic gift.
