‘Disclosure Day’: Steven Spielberg’s UFO movie gets its first trailer

The legendary filmmaker reunites with writer David Koepp for a summer event movie.

Update:

Universal Pictures has officially lifted the curtain on Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated UFO Project, releasing the first trailer for 'Disclosure Day.' With a logline that reads:, “If you found out we weren’t alone... would that frighten you?” let’s take a look at the trailer:

‘Disclosure Day’ introduces us to a world on the brink of a paradigm shift. Emily Blunt stars as a meteorologist caught in a terrifying moment while delivering a live weather report, suddenly overcome by a mysterious extraterrestrial force. Alongside her, Josh O’Connor plays a character driven by a need to reveal the truth of alien life to the global population.

The movie marks the legendary director’s return to the genre that defined much of his career, reuniting with screenwriter David Koepp—the scribe behind blockbusters like ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘War of the Worlds’—Spielberg appears ready to deliver another massive summer event.

Beyond Blunt and O’Connor, the film boasts a formidable ensemble cast including Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. Produced by Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger, the film promises to be a definitive theatrical experience when it arrives this summer.

The return of one of Hollywood’s greatest

Disclosure Day represents a major milestone, serving as the 37th feature film Spielberg has directed since his debut. It is a poetic full circle for the filmmaker, whose very first feature, 1964’s ‘Firelight,’ was also a science fiction story. With a resume that includes ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,’ ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ and ‘Minority Report,’ the expectations for his take on modern sci-fi are incredibly high. The director, whose filmography has grossed over $10 billion worldwide, continues to prove he is a dominant force in theatrical entertainment.
