Disney delays next Avatar movies, pushing fifth installment to 2031
The Avatar franchise is also undergoing a change in its schedule, with Disney releasing films through 2031.
If The Way of Water left you wanting more Avatar experiences, the video game being prepared by Ubisoft will be the closest thing you’ll have for now. Disney has just confirmed moves in the calendar of its internal productions, which includes at least the next three installments they are preparing around the franchise. We go to 2031 to complete the plan of the production company.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avatar 3 will be delayed until December 19, 2025, just one year after its original release date. But the worst is yet to come. Avatar 4 moves from 2026 to December 21, 2029, while Avatar 5 will do the same on December 19, 2031.
If you want Avatar, Ubisoft has a choice
Pandora will also have its place in the video game industry. After an installment in the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation, James Cameron’s brand will be unleashed in the next generation with a title that will make us vibrate through the scenarios of the planet. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an open-world video game developed by Massive Entertainment, the creators of The Division and the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws.
Just this Monday at the latest Ubisoft Forward, we got an in-depth look at the gameplay mechanics. We will control a Na’vi in first person as we try to drive out the humans who are trying to make their way and destroy the wild ecosystem of Pandora. On the other hand, when we connect with the flying animals, the camera switches to third person. Use your bow or an assault rifle to make those coming down from the sky come back with their tails between their legs.
Remember that its release is scheduled for next December 7 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
