Does ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ have post-credits scenes? Deadpool’s Explanation, Importance and Future at Marvel

You should stay during and after the credits.

The countdown is on. On July 25, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will be released in theaters, one of the Disney and superhero movie releases we’ve been looking forward to the most. As always, we want to remind you of the golden rule of Marvel movies: you have to stay after the credits roll. Specifically, in the case of the third Merc with a Mouth adventure, we recommend staying during and after the credits. There are two post-credits scenes that we will deconstruct below for the most impatient and curious.

Warning: There are spoilers. Read on at your own risk.

How many post-credits scenes does Deadpool and Wolverine have?

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ has two scenes at the end of the movie. The first one is during the credits, on one side of the screen, and it warms our hearts. It is a tribute to the X-Men and the old Marvel movies: we will see moments from the making of the film, like Ian McKellen trying on Magneto’s helmet, Jennifer Garner rehearsing the choreography for Elektra and also someone very special that we will not be able to see in the present: Stan Lee. Marvel is appealing to our affection for the legacy of the mutants and other films of its superhero universe, among which there are figures that are missed.

Then, at the end of the credits, we see a scene that clarifies an event that happened in the movie. During his captivity at the hands of Cassandra Nova, Deadpool would have betrayed the Human Torch to Cassandra Nova, reproducing the creative insults he had dedicated to her. The Mummudrai executes Johnny Storm, and then Wade Wilson’s guilt becomes a recurring joke, as the Fantastic One was not seen uttering the outrages of which he was accused.

What do the post-credits scenes in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ mean?

In the post-credits scene, Deadpool plays a clip to the AVT in which Human Torch is seen reeling off said insults, each more colorful than the last, and exactly as Wade Wilson had recounted in his indictment. This scene shows that The Merc with a Mouth was only guilty of living up to his name, not of being a liar, though he may not have calculated the consequences well.

Neither scene gives any substantial clues about Deadpool’s future, although the latter adds a cute joke in which Wade Wilson tries to save his reputation. However, clues about Marvel’s future are hinted at throughout the movie. Perhaps the tender sequence during the credits can be interpreted as a conscious gesture by the production company that it is also aware that we want its old formula back. And at the same time, it is a tender way to restore the traditional Stan Lee cameo without resorting to tools of dubious taste such as artificial intelligence.
