Does Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have post-credits scenes?

Since the new Spider-Man animated movie is from Sony Pictures, does that mean it won’t have the classic Marvel post-credits scene?

It’s been a long time coming, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has just been released in theaters around the world. Five years after Spider-Man: A New Universe, the 2018 Oscar-winning animated masterpiece, Sony Pictures is back to give us a movie for the ages. The question we all ask ourselves is not whether the movie is good or not, that is already beyond doubt, but the question mark is whether there will be a post-credits scene or not.

Will there be a post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

And the answer will surprise more than a few people, because no, there is no post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Not one.

On the one hand, because this is a Sony Pictures movie and not a Marvel Studios one, and on the other hand, because the last few minutes of footage from Across the Spider-Verse are already enough of a cliffhanger and make the direction of the next installment of the saga quite clear (because let’s not forget that there will be another one, and that the current one was originally going to carry the tagline “Part One”). It will be called “Beyond the Spider-Verse” and will be released in 2025.

Movie of the Year?

Our director’s review describes it as “a fascinating work of art”. We loved the movie and highly recommend that people flock to see it. Those were his words:

“In 2019, Martin Scorsese claimed that ‘Marvel movies are not cinema,’ a phrase he would probably retract if he saw the new Spider-Man animated film, because it fulfills the first condition demanded by the brilliant director: ‘The audience wants to be surprised and thrilled.’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse surprises with its aesthetics and thrills with its story.

“The 140-minute running time flies by, the script has pace, constant references to the comic book world, jokes that work, and believable characters. It has some memorable moments, like the conversation between Miles and Gwen on the rooftop of the Williamsburg Bank, that are visually and emotionally powerful. All that remains is the regret of having to wait a year to see how his story continues. One of the best things to come out of the cinema this year and, with the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the Marvel film that recovers the values that the ‘House of Ideas’ had lost.”
