Dragon Ball Daima has revealed a new Goku illustration mixing past and present, but fans are angry
New promotional art for the upcoming ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ has divided the fandom, as fans demand much more from Toei Animation.
‘Dragon Ball Daima’ has quickly become one of the most mysterious entries into the famous manga and anime franchise created by Akira Toriyama that joins the rest of the brand’s upcoming developments, among which is the video game Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO and the long-awaited return of the ‘Dragon Ball Super’ manga after the passing of its creator. Now, after months of silence, a new illustration of Goku belonging to this new anime series has been revealed: a piece of promotional art that mixes past and present, but that has not managed to calm the waters stirred by some fans who want much more of Toei Animation.
The Jump Victory Carnival featured ‘Dragon Ball Daima’
To promote the next Jump Victory Carnival event in July, Toei Animation released a new illustration of Goku belonging to ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ with the appearance that he will have in the new anime series, which coincidentally is the last one in which Akira Toriyama collaborated. In this way, we have a new look at its protagonist, although in a very special way that takes us to the beginning of his adventures in the early 80s.
So much so, that we can see Goku with his new look, which in turn reminds his first stage as a child thanks to his clothes and the magic staff, his famous combat tool that will return to the joy of his fans. Best of all is that Goku is surrounded by the seven dragon balls, with the four-star one standing out above the rest, the one that his grandfather Son Gohan left him as a child and that he has searched for so many times around the world when he was just a kid eager for adventure.
However, this new illustration of ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ has done nothing more than highlight the desires of some fans who had gone months without any news about the new anime and who have shown their disappointment in social media in the face of the passivity of Toei Animation, a company criticized by an alleged lack of desire to promote the new series and of which hardly anything else is known a few months before its premiere, scheduled for this fall.
