‘Dragon Ball Daima’ has revealed the biggest secret hidden by Mr. Popo

Mr. Popo has always stood out among the cast of Dragon Ball and its various series, not just because of him not being a fighter, but also because of his secrets.

Mr. Popo is one of the most recognizable characters in the work of Akira Toriyama, a figure who has been with us for almost 40 years, but who continues to be a great mystery for most. Now, ‘Dragon Ball Daima’ has shown in its second episode one of the biggest secrets that Mr. Popo hid under his turban, quite literally, surprising all fans of the series and demonstrating that there is still much to discover in the universe created by Toriyama.

Kamisama’s main helper, Mr. Popo has been a great help over the years, being a constant figure in ‘Dragon Ball’. Now, in Daima, and due to the transformation into children of all its protagonists by Gomah’s wish, we are able to see what he hides under his characteristic turban: horns. Both because of the horns and the pointed ears, it can be confirmed that he is a demon and his importance within the franchise could increase from now on. Mr. Popo first appeared in chapter 163 of the manga, published in 1988, and now in 2024 we know that he or his ancestors come from the Demon Kingdom.

‘Dragon Ball Daima’, return to origins

The soul of Akira Toriyama is present from the first moment in DB Daima: it has all the spirit of the original series. A posthumous work that aims to live up to the manga legend, with a first chapter that introduces us to its story while showing us, through great animation, events remembered by everyone from ‘Dragon Ball Z’. Now, chapter after chapter the adventure continues and some questions that have remained unanswered for decades begin to be resolved.
