Dragon Ball
‘Dragon Ball’: fan artist who rivals Akira Toriyama shares the ultimate Gohan Saiyan
This fanart image could very well pass for an official illustration by Akira Toriyama or Toyotaro, the illustrator of the ‘Dragon Ball Super’ manga.
Son Gohan is one of the favorite characters of many ‘Dragon Ball’ fans, the eldest son of Goku who has always shown enormous potential, but has been somewhat neglected throughout the various arcs - both ‘Dragon Ball Z’ and ‘Dragon Ball Super’; until his final and bestial beast transformation, that is.
This is the definitive Gohan of Dragon Ball Z.
However, Gohan has also worn all kinds of looks depending on the moment, some more flattering than others, although his look with the Supreme Kai clothes is one of the most memorable. Now an illustrator known for his fan art on the level of Akira Toriyama himself or Toyotaro, the illustrator of the ‘Dragon Ball Super’ manga, has presented his latest creation based on Gohan’s appearance during the Majin Buu arc.
Gohan never needed to transform into Super Saiyan during his training with Kibito on the sacred planet of the Supreme Kai - where he even handled the Z sword - because only in his normal state he was able to unleash all of his latent potential so that he could return to Earth and face Super Buu. Now this artist wanted to imagine what Gohan would look like with his appearance as Supreme Kai transformed into Super Saiyan, a look that has never been seen before and that we can finally enjoy thanks to the illustrator known as Kakeru.
Of course, the quality of the illustration - both in terms of the stroke and the colors chosen - could pass for an official one by Akira Toriyama or Toyotaro, as it copies the style of both mangakas to the point of being practically perfect. Don’t miss Kakeru’s official profile on X, where he presents his best creations based on ‘Dragon Ball’ with original illustrations of the highest quality.
