Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball Super is nearing its end, according to Akira Toriyama

The ‘Dragon Ball’ creator hints that the next story arc of Goku and company’s adventures may be the last.

Update:
Dragon Ball Super

Although 2024 will be an exciting year for the ‘Dragon Ball’ franchise, thanks to the celebration of its 40th anniversary and the various news that will arrive in anime, video games and manga, some fans are worried about the possible end of ‘Dragon Ball Super’, the current manga series illustrated by Toyotaro and written and supervised by Akira Toriyama. As the various story arcs of this canonical sub-series continue, there are many fans who see its end coming closer and closer, even more so if we take into account some statements of its creator that point in that direction.

Is the end of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ near?

So much so that Akira Toriyama revealed some time ago that the next arc after the events of ‘Super Hero’ could be the last, a theory that makes all the sense in the world when you consider that this story is not very far from the true end of the series as seen in ‘Dragon Ball Z’, with the confrontation between Goku and Uub and his subsequent escape to make the young warrior Goku’s successor.

This was pointed out by Toriyama himself, who confirmed that ‘Super Hero’ takes place shortly before the end of ‘Dragon Ball Z’, which is also supported by the teenage aspect of Goten and Trunks - who will play a prominent role in the next arc - and Pan, who is only one year younger in relation to her debut in ‘Dragon Ball Z’. All this makes us think of an upcoming conclusion of the ‘Dragon Ball Super’ story, with the next arc being the last and final one.

We will see if Shueisha or Toei will continue with new ‘Dragon Ball’ stories, both in manga and anime. This fall, we will be able to enjoy a new anime mini-series with ‘Dragon Ball Daima’, in which the main characters are transformed into children by a mysterious villain. In addition, the head of ‘Dragon Ball’ in anime and video games recently guaranteed a decade of new products from the most famous manga series of all time.
