Toyotaro Dragon Ball Super

While we continue to wait for the eagerly anticipated return of the Dragon Ball Super manga following the hiatus in its regular publication due to the passing of Akira Toriyama in early 2024, Toyotaro, his most gifted disciple and current head of both illustration and scriptwriting for the current saga, continues to delight fans with his incredible illustrations. However, his latest publication has exceeded all expectations, eliciting favorable opinions even from the most classic Dragon Ball fans, who recognize that we are witnessing the true successor to the master Tori. This is the cover Toyotaro created for V-Jump magazine, featuring the most powerful versions of Goku and Gohan.

Goku Ultra Instinct and Gohan Beast like we’ve never seen them before

The famous manga artist Toyotaro has created his most impressive cover yet for the February 2026 issue of V-Jump, featuring Goku Ultra Instinct and Gohan Beast in an absolutely stunning way, unlike anything we’ve seen before. The level of detail, proportions, faces, and color application are unprecedented in Toyotaro’s work, proving once again that he continues to evolve and learn over time.

In addition, Toyotaro himself has confirmed his attendance at the upcoming Jump Festa, which will take place on December 20 and 21, to show his support for the new Goku Ultra Instinct and Gohan Beast figures based on one of his latest illustrations. And, as expected, all these promotional moves have reignited rumors about the possible return of the Dragon Ball Super manga, which has been on hiatus for over a year and a half.

Even so, there is speculation that the confirmation of the return of Dragon Ball Super in manga format will be announced during the event at the end of January 2026 called Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri. Toyotaro has already confirmed that he feels increasingly ready to continue with a manga on which he worked side by side with Akira Toriyama himself, who was in charge of the script, character design, and supervisivon. Now, with Toyotaro working solo, he is expected to resume the story of a new arc that has already given us some hints of what lies ahead, such as the return of Frieza in his most powerful form yet: Black Frieza.
