EA Sports FC extends perfect World Cup prediction record with Spain’s 2026 triumph
Spain’s victory over Argentina marks the fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup champion correctly predicted by EA Sports’ football simulation.
For many years, EA Sports has been known for its video games, which, as its slogan “It’s in the Game” aptly puts it. And unlike Super Bowl simulations, EA Sports can boast something significant: a 100% track record in predicting the winner of the FIFA World Cup.
A little over a month ago, EA Sports FC announced on social media that Spain would be the World Cup champion. Although the detail went somewhat unnoticed—since EA Sports no longer holds the FIFA license and, therefore, the World Cup license—it’s still surprising that, amid so many changes, they managed to correctly predict the team that would lift the most coveted trophy in sports. With a score of Spain 1–0 over Argentina, the game has now correctly predicted the outcome for the fifth consecutive time. A history of predictions at the World Cup
EA Sports is currently on a streak of five consecutive World Cups in which it has correctly predicted the champion. Through these simulations, it correctly predicted Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018, Argentina in 2022, and now, Spain in 2026.
