EA Sports UFC 5: Release date, early access, updates and all editions
EA Sports’ mixed martial arts title is returning this year, and here we review its release date, editions, and the platforms it will arrive on.
One of EA SPORTS’ most important franchises is back. EA Sports UFC 5 will mark the return of the cages after three years since the last installment. It does so with a refreshed look that hints at the visual boost offered by next-gen consoles. Previously announced in July this year, we had no information about this installment until now, the day EA Sports released its announcement trailer and presented the first details of the fifth title in the franchise.
When will EA Sports UFC 5 be released?
EA Sports UFC 5 already has a release date and we will not have to wait long, as the title will arrive on October 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Among its new features, the title developed by EA Vancouver will have a series of functions that will make the game make the leap to the next generation, as explained by Nate McDonald, Lead Producer of EA Sports UFC 5:
“UFC 5 offers an intensely realistic fighting experience, harnessing Frostbite’s power and technology. From our Real Impact System that helps maximize the power of the generational hardware leap, to the enhanced lighting, detailed characters, strand-based hair and face animation system, every aspect is upgraded. Our collaboration with UFC delivers an unparalleled and authentic MMA interactive experience.”
EA Sports UFC 5 Cover Athletes, Editions and Early Access
Two of the sport’s heavyweights share the spotlight on the Standard Edition cover. Alexander Volkanovski and Valentina Shevchenko have been recreated in great detail using the game engine. Shevchenko is known to all fans as the UFC Flyweight Champion and is considered the best fighter by The World MMA Awards 2022. Volkanovski, on the other hand, has the UFC Featherweight World Championship in her trophy case, where she holds a record of 26 wins and 2 losses in her 28 fights.
EA Sports UFC 5 will have two editions, the standard version and a deluxe edition that, as usual for EA Sports games, will allow players to start playing three days earlier and will have legendary fighters such as Fedor Emelianenko, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson among its rewards. Not all the details and extras that will be included have been announced yet, but we will keep an eye out for this information as it is announced.
