‘The Odyssey’ is getting closer. That story Homer brought to life so long ago is about to be released in a new adaptation, directed by none other than one of the greatest filmmakers of the 21st century. The anticipation the film has been building for months lives up to the greatness it is expected to deliver. Certainly, early reviews point in that direction. Some film critics have already seen the movie at the first press screenings and have shared their opinions.

Steven Weintraub, from Collider, has described ‘The Odyssey’ in one simple word: “Incredible.” The journalist also offered a recommendation: “If you can, SEE IT IN IMAX 70mm. It’s a jaw dropping experience.”

Rachel Leishman, also from Collider, has said that “‘The Odyssey’ is as epic as its source material.” However, she has gone a step further and describes it not only as “breathtaking, bold,” but also as “perfection.”

For his part, Erik Davis of Fandango is equally thrilled by the film’s outcome: “It’s an absolute triumph and a crowning cinematic achievement from one of the great filmmakers of our time” He also reveals some extremely interesting details. On the one hand, he says “what really surprised me is how much he embraces horror.” On the other hand, he talks about the cast, noting that “it’s stacked,” but that “everyone still gets a chance to shine.” He says Robert Pattinson “absolutely stole the show.”
