Eiichiro Oda talks about the ‘One Piece’ spin-off he dreams of one day making

The universe created by Eiichiro Oda has possibilities beyond the main work.

one piece

One Piece’ is in its final stretch, the fifth of the second part of the manga and the eleventh in all. Despite being fully immersed in its conclusion, all indications are that there are still many years to go before it all comes to an end, but there are many fans who have long wondered what will happen when it does. The example of other outstanding Shonen such as ‘Naruto’ or ‘Dragon Ball’ gives hope that there will still be material, and so far Eiichiro Oda has talked about it by referring to some ideas.

The creator of ‘One Piece’ knows how diverse and deep the universe he has created is, so he is able to create all kinds of stories. One of the ones he dreams of drawing is a spin-off in which the protagonist is Monkey D. Garp, Luffy’s grandfather and Dragon’s father, who is known as the “Hero of the Marines.” In a 2018 Oda publication, he emphasized that he would like to draw Garp’s relationship and conversations with characters such as Akainu, Aokiji, Smoker, Hina, Koby, the Cipher Pol and Gol D. Roger.

Eiichiro Oda’s wishes and dreams do not end there, and although we do not know if he will take a long break when ‘One Piece’ is finished, the reality is that there is a lot of material to work on around the stories of the past and great characters. Another spin-off that the author is dreaming of has to do with another member of the protagonist’s family: his father, Monkey D. Dragon.

This story would deal with the Revolutionary Army and the figure of the Dragon, taking a more serious approach than usual and showing an interesting story.
