Elden Ring DLC gameplay reveal trailer is releasing tomorrow

After years of waiting, FromSoftware is finally ready to reveal the first trailer for Elden Ring’s expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.

Somebody wake up the loremasters! FromSoftware has just announced an upcoming trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring’s expansion. And it’s releasing tomorrow Wednesday February 21, 2024.

The announcement was made through the game’s official Twitter/X account, where a simple post of the game’s title revealed that “The first trailer for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will be revealed in 16 hours”. A YouTube link sends fans to wait on the trailer’s premiere, with the warning that there will be a 30-minute countdown before the presentation starts.

There have been no additional details revealed about what to expect, but the description under the video states that it’s a three-minute trailer, while the announcement calls it a “gameplay reveal”. At the very least, we know it won’t be pre-rendered cutscenes, and that it may show us new areas, enemies, and more.

The light of the Erdtree shines upon us once again

It’s been almost two years since the release of Elden Ring, and about a year and a half since the game’s DLC was announced, and ever since then no more details were shared publicly about what to expect from it. FromSoftware has consistently appeased fans, telling them that they’re still hard at work on the expansion, but that there was still more to be done.

As a result, the community fell into a spiral of theories, rumors, and hopes. Some have taken to exploring the smallest details of every FromSoftware game, even finding links between Bloodborne and Shadow of the Erdtree’s first teaser image. Others scoured the game’s Steam page for any sort of update or clue that might have been unwittingly released (Us. It’s us, we did that last thing, twice).

Now, our wait is almost over. At the very least we’ll get to see a glimpse of what awaits us when the Elden Ring DLC is eventually released.
