No one could have imagined that Twitter would remove the blocking feature. This means that we will no longer be able to block a user from interacting with us. In fact, the only thing we can do is block them from sending us a DM (private message). At this time, Elon Musk has not specified when the blocking option will be removed.
How to block on Twitter
We don’t know if the Twitter users we previously blocked will remain blocked when the changes take effect. In any case, it is currently still possible to block anyone you see fit, so here is a quick guide to how to block users on X (Twitter).
- Click the three dots icon (...) that appears to the right of the name of the user you want to block.
- The sixth option in the list is “Block @[username]”.
The difference between blocking and muting
It’s a question many people ask: What’s the difference between blocking and muting someone on Twitter? Blocking is the most powerful way to prevent a user from interacting with you; when you use it, that user will no longer be able to see your profile, read your tweets, view your photos and videos, or quote you.
