And here comes another GOTY nominee, giving us yet another reason to remember 2023 for years to come. Less than a week before its launch (scheduled for Friday, October 20), Sony has lifted the embargo on reviews of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the opinion of the press seems unanimous: we have a new essential title in the PS5 library. Critics around the world are full of praise for the darker and more violent tone of this sequel, starring Kraven and Venom as the main villains of the game, as well as the enormous amount of improvements it presents in all areas. Combat, stealth, mobility, side missions... Insomniac has left nothing unpolished or unenhanced.
Just as our collegues at Spain wrote on their review, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the perfect sequel. A textbook example of more and better. It doesn’t reinvent anything, but improves in everything (absolutely everything) from its predecessors.” Now, we also go one step further and assure that “Insomniac Games has delivered the best game of its long career and claims itself as the most stable studio of the PlayStation factory.”
