Everything you need to know about Lies of P: multiplayer, Game Pass, DLC and more

Lies of P is releasing on September 19, 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The soulslike, inspired in the story of Pinocchio seemingly mixed with a steampunk version of Bloodborne were mechanical puppets roam the streets of a city looking for victims to kill, has already managed to surprise us thanks to its unique concept and above average gameplay.

Through a lengthy demo, our attention was captured and our interest peaked, and now that we’re so close to its release it’s about time we delved into the details about this upcoming game.

What is Lies of P about?

Developed by Round8 Studio and published by Neowiz, Lies of P is a steampunk Soulslike action game that takes notes of some of FROM Software’s biggest games, like Sekiro and Bloodborne, while mixing it with the story of Pinocchio, the fairytale about a mischievous puppet that comes to life and wishes to become a real boy (and about his creator/father Gepetto, who wished for a son of his own).

The game mixes the elegance of a victorian era with a dark and gory aesthetic to create the city of Krat, which players will be exploring as Pinocchio while finding a variety of weapons and arms to hack through the hordes of puppets infesting the streets. The action looks fast paced and brutal, as is expected of a game of this genre, and even though you play as a set protagonist it seems like there’s plenty of customization options to make your very own Pinocchio.

Is Lies of P multiplayer?

Lies of P is single-player experience through and through, with no hints of any kind of multiplayer at all at the time of writing this article. The developers haven’t shown any kind of multiplayer gameplay, nor have they hinted at it coming down the line after release.

This means that, unlike many other Soulslike games before it, Lies of P has no cooperative multiplayer or PvP modes of any kind. It’s you against the murderous puppets of Krat, with no help from anyone.

Is there a demo for Lies of P?

As previously mentioned, there is currently a free demo available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Players can find this demo in their respective storefront, which includes quite a bit of content to discover and help you make an informed decision about whether or not to get the game.

Is the game available on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes! Lies of P will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library of free games from day 1, meaning that starting September 19, any subscriber of the Microsoft service can download and play the entirety of the game.
