Everything you need to know about Pokémon Go Fest Global 2023: when it starts, activities, and updates

We take a look at all the information regarding the biggest Pokémon GO event of the year, with the highlights, new Pokémon, and activities worldwide.

The time has come for Pokémon Go’s biggest celebration, GO Fest, to begin in its global edition. While this festival has already started in certain physical locations, such as Osaka and London a few weeks ago, New York will host its edition in Randall’s Island Park to finally give everyone the opportunity to celebrate Niantic’s game next weekend. This time, we will review everything that will be included in the global celebration, how much it will cost, and which Pokémon will be available during these two days.

When does Pokémon Go Fest Global 2023 will begin?

Let’s start with the most important: Pokémon Go Fest Global 2023 will take place on August 26 and 27 between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time.

How much it costs and where to buy tickets for Pokémon Go Fest Global 2023?

Any player in the world can participate in the event for free, but there is a ticket that enhances the experience with special bonuses, rewards, and additional features. The Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Global ticket is priced at $14.99 (or its local currency equivalent) and will be available for purchase until Sunday, August 27 at 4:00 p.m. local time. Please note that this ticket cannot be purchased with Pokécoins. Those who purchase their tickets in advance will receive one or two special Timed Researches.

The ticket can be purchased directly from the Pokémon GO In-Game Store. Once purchased, the ticket will be placed in your Item Bag and you will be able to access the experience when the event begins.

What activities and Pokémon will be available during Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Global?

So, what will be happening at Pokémon Go Fest 2023 Global? For starters, more than 70 Pokémon, some of which will debut in their Shiny and Mega forms, as well as new costumes for Pikachu. Let’s take a look.

Wild encounters

On both Saturday and Sunday, the raids will be full of Pokémon of various levels. Sunday will be a special day, as it will be the only day with a special Mega Raid.

Bonus and Features

These are the bonuses that players will receive during Pokémon Go Fest 2023 Global (whether they have a ticket or not):

  • Lure Modules activated will last for one hour
  • 2× friendship bonus damage in raids
  • Trainers will be able to enjoy Field Research themed around the different Pokémon habitats
  • The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 per day from Saturday, August 26 at 12:00 am to Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 11:59 pm local time
  • Take snapshots during the event—you never know who might show up!

Ticket Holder Exclusives

Although much of what we have shown is available to all players, you may be asking yourself “why should I buy the ticket? Well, here we show you all the extras that are included when you pay.

Special Research

Mega Diancie will make its Pokémon Go debut as part of the special research available to ticket holders. This research will only be available on Saturday, with an exclusive story.

On Sunday, users will be able to obtain additional Metoerites, which are required for Mega Rayquaza Raids, through Sunday’s exclusive Special Research.

Exclusive Bonus

In addition to the bonuses listed above, ticket holders will have access to these additional bonuses:

  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
  • Up to six Special Trades can be made each day
  • Level up your Elite Collector medal by completing habitat-themed Collection Challenges!
  • Up to 9 free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
  • Special 7 km Eggs
