Fast & Furious: in which order to watch the entire saga

To celebrate the release of Fast X, we take a look at the chronological and release order of Universal Pictures’ famous driving and action saga.

Fast & Furious: in which order to watch the entire saga

With Fast X about to hit theaters, we wanted to look in the rearview mirror and take a look at the chronological order and release of the various films in the Fast & Furious saga. And like many other movie franchises with numerous installments released over the years and even decades, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to keep up with so many sequels. And the Fast & Furious universe is no different, although in this case, it is less convoluted than others. Let’s see in what chronological and release order we can watch the nine main films of the saga starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, who were later joined by other celebrities such as Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa and more.

In what order to watch the Fast & Furious saga?

In the case of Fast & Furious, the release order of the different films is certainly the most organic and natural to follow the action and the maturation of the characters, as well as the evolution of the franchise from street racing to the most improbable and spectacular action on wheels. In addition, the entry of such charismatic actors as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, starting with the fifth installment, is evidence of the franchise’s shift towards the most blockbuster visual spectacularity, adding that casual touch to their peculiar relationship that has given such good results in subsequent installments and that has even seen the birth of the spin-off of the Hobbs & Shaw franchise.

Another way to look at the Fast & Furious saga is in chronological order, although it can be a bit confusing because of the third part, Tokyo Race. An attempt to create its own universe that took place years after the main action and added Vin Diesel’s cameo at the end. It wasn’t until the sixth numbered installment that the definitive chronology was made clear; although seeing technology from ten years ago in terms of cell phones, screens and more between the third and sixth installments might not be the most natural thing to do. Anyway, here is the chronological order of the Fast & Furious series.
