Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: a port that has greatly improved on the previous version
We tested the performance of the port on a PC with the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, the Steam Deck OLED and the ROG Ally.

It’s been almost a year since we took a look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in its PS5 version. Now we had the opportunity to test the PC port, which will arrive this January 23, and we were able to evaluate it on different configurations, including the Steam Deck OLED and the Asus Rog Ally X.
We will now list the results of our tests on these platforms, since this version is not far from the Sony console version in terms of content. It is important to note that this edition has new features and customization options, such as:
- Lighting adjustments and the overall rendering of light in the game have been improved. As a result, updated areas and cinematics are presented with visual enhancements.
- Support for NVIDIA DLSS to improve frame rate and image quality.
- Variable refresh rate (VRR) support.
- Background Model Details and Background Texture MIP Maps can be configured in the Options dialog to adjust polygon and background texture density to either reduce or increase GPU load compared to the PS5 version.
- DualSense control support to use of the same controls as the PS5 version.
- Keyboard and mouse support.
Minimum, recommended, and ultra recommendations
In this table, we can see what are the minimum and the most optimal requirements to be able to see the game at its maximum visual expression.

Tests
We tested the PC version using the following configuration:
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
- Graphics card: TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super
- RAM: 48 GB Kingston Fury Renegade at 8400 MHz
- Motherboard: TUF GAMING Z890-PRO WIFI
- Cooling: TUF Gaming LC II 240 ARGB
- SSD: Kingstone Fury Renegade PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
- Chassis: InWin 904 PLUS
With all settings at maximum, dynamic resolution at maximum 100% and minimum 50%, and DLSS. The game gave us an average of over 90 FPS.

The Asus Rog Ally X on the other hand with the graphics quality average, with a resolution of 1280 x 720, operating mode on 17W (performance), FSR active kept us an average above 30 FPS. Switching the operating mode to 25W turbo with the same values it gets to be above the average of 40 FPS.

It is important to note that when we set the graphics quality to low with the operating mode at 17W (performance) it gave us an average above 40 FPS, which makes it a perfectly playable experience and can extend the battery life.
In the case of the Steam Deck OLED, however, to come verified, on the lowest settings at the native resolution of 1280×800 the platform kept us averaging over 40 FPS.

Extras
Those who do the pre-order will receive the “Moogle Trio” summoning material, this bonus also includes a Shinra Bangle Mk. II and a Midgar Bangle Mk. II.
