Final Fantasy VII Rebirth download size has been revealed, how big is the game on PS5?

One of the most highly anticipated games of the year is almost here, so now is the best time to make some space on your PS5 storage for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is finally releasing this month. The sequel to the remake of what is possibly the most popular Final Fantasy in history, a seventh installment that was released in 1997 and that almost 30 years later is still very topical. According to a Twitter/X account called PlayStation Game Size, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have a size of 145 GB, and that’s not including the updates that will arrive on launch day. If we stick to the PS5 base hard drive, it has a capacity of 825 GB, but the actual console storage is about 667 GB due to the space occupied by the operating system. If you use an external hard drive, you won’t have any problems, but if you simply stick to the one that comes by default with the console, you may have to free up space to deal with what is one of the largest downloads of a PlayStation 5 game yet.

An outstanding size for a game that aims to be immense, and that we will be able to enjoy this February 29, 2024. A day long awaited by all fans to see how this remake or reimagination of the classic continues.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a video game legend that wants to go further

Square Enix is aiming to release one of the biggest contenders for Game of the Year of 2024, with Rebirth being the second installment of a trilogy remaking the original FFVII. A legend of the industry that never stops going further, and is not only satisfied with showing again what was experienced in the PlayStation 1 classic, but also going beyond it and showing us new possibilities in a story that never stops opening up and generating debate.

The impressions of the game made at Meristation highlighted that “we are clear that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be one of the great games of 2024.” The game’s new environment is noticeable from the beginning, noting that “while the remake takes place in fairly closed environments, the sequel embraces open locations and much freer exploration.” Furthermore, “Square Enix has managed to establish a perfect balance between strategic focus and action. Unlike Final Fantasy VI, which strips away commands, this reinterpretation of the classic encourages pause, even though battles take place between bursts of light, magic, and fast movements.”
