First details of the new Fortnite season: alien invasion and new Halo outfits

Following the conclusion of the Super: Showdown event on Saturday, August 2, Fortnite is looking ahead to its new season. Epic Games has already shared the first details about Chapter 6 Season 4, the game’s new season that will focus on an alien invasion, and there will be new Halo outfits in the form of new female SPARTAN armor joining the fray.

Aliens invade the island in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, and new SPARTAN from Halo come to the rescue

During the conclusion of the Super: Showdown event, Superman himself saved the day by destroying the Mastermind, a cluster of tentacles from a demonic dimension. However, as is customary in the Fortnite storyline, the defeat of one threat is followed by the arrival of another that requires a radically different approach.

One of these giant tentacles was left behind on the stage, rotting away. From its remains, insectoid-looking aliens have begun to emerge, causing chaos and terror on the island in the new season. And to help fight them, new characters will arrive: soldiers wearing SPARTAN IV armor from the Halo saga. As revealed by various Fortnite social media accounts, “Yeah, we called in the experts for this one...”

One of the recurring enemies in the Halo franchise is the Flood, an alien species that threatens to consume all life in the galaxy, assimilating all living beings into its hive mind. For this reason, the new outfits from the Halo series are very appropriate additions given the theme of the new Fortnite season.

Aside from these new outfits, there are also rumors that other Power Rangers outfits will be coming, including a secret outfit from the legendary Megazord. Once again, these iconic television characters are also true experts at dealing with all kinds of alien threats.

Last but not least, it also seems appropriate to collaborate with Helldivers, especially considering the huge popularity of its second installment, which will be coming to Xbox very soon. This has not been confirmed, but thematically it would fit quite well within this new narrative framework.

When does the new Fortnite season start?

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 kicks off next Thursday, August 7, at 1:30 AM ET. This date and time correspond to the following times across the United States:

• 1:30 AM ET
• 12:30 AM CT
• 10:30 PM PT

In order to enjoy the content of the new season, we will need to download patch 37.00, which will bring all the new features. Once this is done, we will have to wait a few hours for Epic Games to reset the servers after implementing all these changes. In the worst-case scenario, if there are any unforeseen problems, Fortnite may be offline for a day or even longer.
