Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox Series X|S with fire and democracy this summer
Helldivers 2 expands its battlefront, bringing co-op action and galactic liberation to Xbox players in late August.
Super Earth needs your help, and now you can bring democracy to your Xbox. Arrowhead Game Studios revealed this morning through an announcement stream that Helldivers 2 will officially arrive at the end of August on Microsoft consoles.
The date on which Xbox players will be able to play the first-person shooter will be August 26. Interestingly, this is the same day that Gears of War: Reloaded will arrive on PlayStation 5, a cultural exchange. In addition, PlayStation, PC, and Xbox players will be able to play together, as cross-play between platforms is confirmed.
“We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game,” commented Helldivers 2 Game Director Mikael Eriksson on the Xbox Wire announcement. “We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.”
PlayStation on other platforms
Unlike Xbox, which in recent months has begun to want to bring many of its titles to every possible platform, PlayStation is no slouch in bringing some of its joy to other platforms. And while we keep in mind that PlayStation has taken more of its efforts towards the PC, it has also brought franchises like MLB The Show, developed by Sony San Diego Studio, to both Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Helldivers 2 is currently on pre-order and will be priced at $39.99 for the regular version and $59.99 for the Super Citizen Edition.
