Netflix

For the first time ever, Netflix revealed its most watched series' ranking: it’s clear who is king

Among the 40 most watched shows there are all kinds of productions, although the most watched include hits such as ‘The Squid Game’ or ‘Emily in Paris’.

Netflix

Netflix has shared the most watched series on its platform during the second half of 2024, that is, from July to December last year, with a name that stands out with authority above the rest: the second season of ‘The Squid Game’. And the most surprising thing is that the South Korean production was released only six days before the end of the period, something that makes its numbers a record. All thanks to its 87 million views, a figure that grew even more during the month of January this year.

‘The Squid Game’ is Netflix’s most watched series in 2024

Thus, the series starring Lee Jung-jae as Sung Ki-hoon - an actor we also saw last year in ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Acolyte’ as Jedi master Sol - has overtaken the miniseries ‘The Perfect Couple’ with Nicole Kidman and its 74.1 million views, which remains in second place. The third drawer of the ranking is occupied by ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’, the second installment of Ryan Murphy’s crime anthology that obtained 67.7 million views.

Other popular series such as ‘Emily in Paris’ (season 4) or ‘Cobra Kai’ (season 6) also sneak in among the most watched series thanks to their 57.8 million views and 38.3 million views, respectively.

Other series that stand out among the first positions of the ranking are the Norwegian ‘La Palma’ (position 6) or the Mexican The Accident (position 8). To find the most watched Spanish series, we must go down to position 37, where ‘Respira’ is located thanks to its almost 20 million views.
