Fortnite confirms its collaboration with Overwatch with new outfits for D.Va, Genji, Tracer, and Mercy: All the details
Several of Overwatch’s most popular heroes are coming to Fortnite with new outfits, weapons, map changes, and much more.

Fortnite continues to add all kinds of collaborations to its virtually limitless roster of guest characters. Epic Games’ title isn’t exactly at its peak right now, and, interestingly, this new collaboration is with another video game that’s also going through a rough patch. This time, Overwatch heroes like Tracer, Genji, D.Va, and Mercy are arriving on the Fortnite island to save it from the new evil lurking there.
Fortnite x Overwatch: All the details on the new collaboration featuring new outfits, weapons, map changes, and more
Through a trailer posted on Fortnite’s official social media channels, Epic Games has announced one of the most significant collaborations in the history of its flagship game: starting Thursday, May 14, 2026, Overwatch’s D.Va, Genji, Tracer, and Mercy will be available. But take note, because this isn’t your typical in-game store collaboration where only outfits are available: it’s a full-scale event that influences the narrative of Fortnite’s current season and will bring map changes, as well as weapons and items from Overwatch.

The trailer itself offers a glimpse of much of the content coming with the collaboration, such as Overwatch’s iconic King’s Row map as a new named location for the Fortnite island, as well as character-themed cosmetic items and several of their most iconic weapons, such as Tracer’s dual pistols. New themed missions are also expected to advance the season’s narrative, while also explaining the arrival of these heroes in the Epic Games title.
A collaboration aimed at reviving two major video game icons—but is it too late?
This collaboration has come at a very delicate time for the brands involved. Overwatch recently underwent a rebranding aimed at winning back many of the fans who have been disappointed since the launch of Overwatch 2; the hero shooter genre is no longer what it used to be, and Blizzard’s former dominance in the genre has been called into question by recent strong contenders like Marvel Rivals. For its part, Fortnite is facing an almost unprecedented reputational crisis amid mass layoffs at Epic Games and the price hike for V-Bucks, the game’s virtual currency.

It’s no surprise, then, that both Blizzard and Epic Games have seen an opportunity to strengthen their ties and launch a mutually beneficial collaboration: on the one hand, Fortnite could see a spike in sales of Overwatch-themed cosmetic items, while Overwatch will get a boost in visibility that might encourage many Fortnite fans to give it a try.
