Fortnite x Fallout? A multitude of fans are requesting the collaboration to happen
After a fan shared their completely hypothetical concept for a Fallout skin in Fortnite, many players have started demanding Epic Games do an official collaboration.
Fortnite is undoubtedly a huge deal in the world of entertainment. Not just among video games anymore, but also on film and television, comics, anime and manga, and even book series. Week after week it feels like we’re always getting new content announced for the battle royale sensation, with the platform somehow securing collaborations with celebrities and franchises every time. So what happens when they’re not immediately hopping on the most popular thing at the moment? The fans start to demand they do.
With the Fallout Prime Video series released, and it being such a huge success that the franchise is springing back to life with hordes of players rushing back to the decades-old titles, one fan tried to imagine what a crossover between both franchises might look like. On the Fortnite subreddit, user “DudeWheresMyWizard” uploaded their dream design for a Fortnite x Fallout crossover that pictures Fortnite’s Jones in a Vault Suit with survival gear, and a tiny Mr. Handy floating behind him.
It didn’t take long for the community to latch on to the idea, starting to expand on the concept with their own ideas. “I can see a supersledge as the axe and a vertibird as the glider,” said one reply. " Maybe the skin also has a togglable option where it makes the V.A.T.S. sound when looking down sights.”
Other ideas include a Power Armor or Brotherhood knight skin, a vault boy head style, and even a more elaborate event to tie with a rumored apocalypse-themed season. And of course, this has led to many users heading to social media to demand both Epic Games and Bethesda to collaborate on an official crossover.
However, no sort of Fortnite x Fallout event has been announced, rumored, or even hinted at. It’s possible that with the heightened popularity of the Fallout franchise thanks to the show, something may come up in the near future, but one could imagine that Epic Games plans its content well in advance. As of the time of writing this article, Fortnite is currently enjoying an “Avatar: The Last Airbender” event to coincide with their “Elements” season, something that very few fans expected.
