Gameloft is working on a Dungeons & Dragons survival game set in the Forgotten Realms

After the success of Baldur’s Gate 3, a survival game set in the same D&D world is now in development.

Update:
Dungeons & Dragons

Fans of swords, dragons, and sorcery are about to be even more excited. From the launch last year of one of the best RPGs of all time, Baldur’s Gate 3, to this month’s arrival of Dragon’s Dogma 2...and in the future, even more. One of those projects is especially exciting, as it is a survival game based on Dungeons & Dragons and set specifically in the Forgotten Realms.

First details about Dungeons & Dragons survival

We already know the ingredients of this formula: life simulation, a lot of crafting, a multitude of missions, and RPG elements, to which we add cooperative play. “Players can expect an adventure where the rich lore of this legendary franchise meets real-time survival in a unique campaign of resilience, camaraderie, and danger at nearly every turn,” said Gameloft in their official announcement. Unfortunately, there is still much time before we get to see this project, as the company has just posted Work offers in this regard, as well as in others such as Disney Dreamlight Valley.

“We are honored to partner with Wizards of the Coast to deliver a completely new experience in the Dungeons & Dragons® universe” said Lee Kaburis, executive producer of Gameloft Montreal. “We are all big fans of D&D and are already hard at work bringing our concept to life, including growing our team, and we look forward to sharing more details in the future.”

Wizards of the Coast is a subsidiary of Hasbro, which has been collaborating with Larian Studios for years to provide us the fantastic Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023, but it has even more titles in the works. One of them is codenamed Project Baxter and is being developed by Starbreeze, creators of Payday 3, which have recently suffered layoffs, including the departure of the multiplayer game director, compromising their planned 2026 release.
