Godzilla is getting a new movie from the director of ‘Godzilla Minus One’

The king of monsters, the most powerful Kaiju, is set to return with one of his best directors of the last few years: Takashi Yamazaki is working on a new Godzilla film.

Godzilla is set to make a return to the big screen with a new movie from the studios that one, and the person in charge of carrying it out is none other than Takashi Yamazaki. The director managed to make the kaiju win his first-ever Oscar thanks to the enormous success of ‘Godzilla Minus One’, and now he will be in charge of bringing back the monster in what could be a sequel to his previous film.

Toho has decided to put one of the largest symbols of the Japanese film industry back in the hands of the award-winning director. The award-winning ‘Godzilla Minus One’ made history on the creature’s 70th anniversary, with an Oscar for Best Visual Effects that was very significant for a legendary franchise and a work with much less budget than its competitors.

Sequel to ‘Godzilla Minus One’?

The ending of ‘Godzilla Minus One’ leaves the story completely open for a sequel. The monster never dies, but beyond that, we see Noriko Oishi in the hospital as a possible recipient of something that completely changes the saga on the part of Toho. There are multiple possibilities, and the link between this character and Godzilla could be one of the bases of the sequel.

The possibility of seeing Godzilla facing other kaiju is also something that the most die-hard fans of the saga are looking forward to experiencing under the mastery of Takashi Yamazaki. There are no details about the new giant monster movie, but it is already a reality that is in development.
