Update:

Yes, even in 2026, there are many people who believe the Earth is flat. They are known as flat-Earthers, and they believe that humans live on a flat surface that has a beginning and an end. Although there is ample scientific evidence proving that it is an ellipsoid (a closed curved surface), people who subscribe to various conspiracy theories tend to believe that everything known about astronomy is part of a hoax.

Now, as the Orion spacecraft is in full flight toward the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission, NASA has released a spectacular image of Earth as seen from the spacecraft. The image clearly shows that if there’s one thing Earth isn’t, it’s flat...

The journey to the Moon is nearly 248,548 miles. If all goes according to plan, the astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft will reach the Moon on April 5. After flying past the Moon, they will begin the return flight to Earth, which will take about the same amount of time as the outbound journey: approximately four or five days.
