GTA 5’s Trevor actor reveals his ‘hatred’ for the character and his dream for GTA 6
Steven Ogg, the voice of Trevor in the fifth numbered installment of Rockstar’s saga, talks about his role in a new interview and assures that it is “awesome” but...

The actor who voices Trevor in GTA 5, Steven Ogg, has spoken about his famous role in the fifth numbered installment of the Rockstar Games franchise, as well as finally answering a question that has been asked by fans for years: whether or not he really hates being associated with the most over-the-top character in Grand Theft Auto V, who is one of the three main characters in the video game. And since he participated in GTA V, Ogg has had a prominent career in film and television, appearing in shows such as ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Better Call Saul’; has his role as Trevor harmed his career?
Steven Ogg face-to-face with his alter ego Trevor
And while Trevor is a name primarily associated with GTA 5’s single-player campaign, Steven Ogg also returned as Trevor in GTA Online. Along with Ogg, Shawn Fonteno also returned for The Contract update to GTA 5’s online mode as part of the new missions and content. That’s why many fans are wondering if Ned Luke, the voice of Michael De Santa in GTA 5, will return one last time before the release of GTA 6. Remember that both Shawn Fonteno and Ned Luke have been very involved with their characters in the years since the game’s release, with Fonteno even creating his own GTA Online server and Luke playing and streaming his games on both sides of GTA 5.
However, Ogg has kept his distance from his digital alter ego from GTA 5, leading many fans to believe that the actor “hates” Trevor. Is that really the case? Ogg claims that he doesn’t like being called Trevor because it’s just not his name: “When people call you by your character name, it’s kinda weird because I kinda get it, but I’m also like meh,” the actor assures, who is not very convinced that he is popularly known as ‘Trevor’.
In any case, Ogg does not hate Trevor: “He’s a great character,” the actor says. “He’s awesome. I still see Shawn and Ned, we’re friends. We were just doing a Comic Con this past weekend.” Ogg ends by saying that these comments don’t bother him because the people making them don’t know him, implying that no, Ogg doesn’t hate the character as many fans believe. While Trevor is one of the most memorable characters in Grand Theft Auto 5, it’s clear that Ogg loved playing him, but he just wants people to call him by his real name.

However, fans are adamant that Ogg truly hates Trevor, following the actor’s comments about his desire to have Trevor killed in GTA 6, a clear reference to the opening scene of Grand Theft Auto 5 in which Trevor kills a prominent character from a previous game in Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto saga.
Goodbye GTA 5, welcome GTA 6
GTA 6 is certainly the most anticipated release of the video game industry in many years, a sixth installment that will say goodbye to Los Santos and its three protagonists to take us back to the present day in Vice City, a city that we already saw in the eighties and that will now have its two protagonists in Lucia and Jason. Will it finally reach the market sometime in the second half of this 2025?
