Hand-Drawn Action RPG ‘Lunarium’ launches on Steam this July
The indie action RPG combines fast-paced combat, exploration, and a story-driven adventure featuring two playable heroines.

Indie developer Lunarium Game Studio and publisher Imperfect Games have announced that Lunarium will launch for PC via Steam on July 29, 2026. This was revealed through a new trailer that shows us more about this hand-drawn isometric action RPG, which follows two young women on a quest to save a decaying world, blending fast-paced combat with exploration and character progression.
A combat system built around two heroes
One of Lunarium’s defining features is its dual-protagonist gameplay. Players control Ave, a skilled swordswoman, and Lune, a powerful sorceress, switching between their complementary abilities to overcome enemies. While Ave excels in close-quarters combat, rewarding precise parries and well-timed dodges, Lune supports the fight by generating Resonance Points, a resource used to weaken enemies and unleash devastating coordinated attacks between the two protagonists.
The game offers several progression systems that let players tailor their builds. Throughout the adventure, players collect Embroideries—passive charms that provide combat bonuses—while gathering materials to upgrade weapons and unlock new abilities through each protagonist’s dedicated skill tree.

Lunarium entirely hand-drawn world spans ancient forests, ruined castles, and mysterious archipelagos. Along the way, players will battle corrupted creatures, towering golems, and formidable bosses while uncovering a story centered on memory, identity, and sacrifice.
According to game director Jixiang, Lunarium seeks to balance challenging action gameplay with a narrative-driven adventure, culminating in one of two possible endings.
