Accio cast!

What has been rumored for months is now a reality. HBO has confirmed the participation of the first part of the cast for the next Harry Potter TV adaptation. This cast is part of the teachers and staff of the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with names that have been rumored for some time.
The confirmed cast so far consists of:
- John Lithgow (‘Conclave,’ ‘The Crown’) as Albus Dumbledore,
- Janet McTeer (‘Tumbleweeds,’ ‘The White Queen’) as Minerva McGonagall,
- Paapa Essiedu (‘I May Destroy You,’ ‘Gangs of London’) as Severus Snape
- Nick Frost (‘Shaun of the Dead,’ ‘Hot Fuzz’) as Rubeus Hagrid.
- Luke Thallon (Tom Stoppard’s ‘Leopoldstadt,’ Rupert Goold’s ‘Patriots’) as Quirinus Quirrell
- Paul Whitehouse (‘The Fast Show,’ ‘Harry & Paul’) as Argus Filch
“We are happy to announce the casting of John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Luke Thallon and Paul Whitehouse to play Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Hagrid, Quirrell and Filch,’ said Francesca Gardiner, showrunner and executive producer, and Mark Mylod, director of multiple episodes and executive producer. ‘We’re delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can’t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life.”

Harry Potter and the TV Series Adaptation
For the time being, the Harry Potter series is still looking for its main cast. HBO held a casting call for Harry, Ron, and Hermione and received more than 30,000 applications. It will be an important task for the cable network to find actors who can bring these characters to life while offering something different from the actors who brought the franchise to life 20 years ago.
It is expected that the Harry Potter series will be able to adapt one book per season, which would mean a minimum of seven seasons. A remarkable extension that confirms a project that will demand a lot from all its actors. Filming will begin this summer.
