He played PS2 with his son for years because he couldn’t afford anything better; years later, the young man thanked him in the best way
The family was in some financial straits, so they couldn’t afford a more modern console.
Not everyone can afford the new consoles. It’s been almost five years since the release of the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Unlike previous generations, however, the price has not gone down; quite the opposite has happened. Reddit user Piyush3000 shared a nice story about a classic machine: the PS2.
Due to the economic problems his family was going through, Piyush3000 and his father have been playing PS2 for years. This allowed them to forge a relationship around video games and the experiences they have shared since they first turned it on.
An unexpected surprise
Years passed, and Piyush3000 wanted to reconnect with his father. The calendar marked January 2024, by which time the PS5 had already been on the market for about three years. The price was still high and not accessible to everyone, but the previous console could be purchased at a more affordable price. He therefore opted for the PS4 Pro and gave it to his father as a gift.
As the photograph above shows, the father plays with his new PS4 Pro, controller in hand. Their father-son relationship has been strengthened by video games and will surely continue.
