He’ll be in the next 2K... but not in the NBA: This Pacers All-Star will be a playable character in WWE 2K25
The first of the 3 basketball players to arrive in WWE 2K25 has been revealed.
From the court to the mat! The second DLC character pack for WWE 2K25 will bring three NBA basketball players to the wrestling game developed by Visual Concepts, and the first of these was recently announced.
Last Monday, Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton was announced as one of the playable characters in the game. The WWE posted on their social networks that the basketball player would be making a special announcement, generating excitement all afternoon, until the WWE 2K account itself made the official announcement that same night.
What is Halliburton’s relationship with WWE?
What led this basketball player to be chosen as one of the characters for WWE 2K25? Last June, Halliburton and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson face off during WWE SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Interestingly, the Indiana Pacers are currently competing against the New York Knicks in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
In early March, Visual Concepts announced that the ‘Dunk & Destruction’ character pack, coming in June, would feature at least three NBA stars, along with wrestlers Abyss and Great Khali. Now that we know Tyrese Haliburton is one of the basketball stars who will make the jump to the ring, the question remains: Who will be the other two to swap the court for the third rope?
The Dunk & Destruction pack has its release date scheduled for next Wednesday, June 25, promising a new dimension of gameplay for WWE 2K25 enthusiasts.
