Team Cherry
Hollow Knight: Silksong has been officially delayed
The studio revealed that their intention was to launch Hollow Knight: Silksong during the first half of 2023, but they’re now taking extra time to continue development.
Patience and time are two concepts that seem to escape from contemporary society, so immersed in the whirlwind of haste and fast consumption. The market demands a product and videogames rush to meet that need, but developing a good title requires patience, time, and talent. With Hollow Knight, one of the most successful independent games ever, Team Cherry demonstrated its capabilities. That’s why many players eagerly await the release of Silksong, its long promised sequel. Now, the studio has confirmed that it is delayed.
Matthew Griffin, from the marketing and publishing team, has shared a short statement on Twitter in which he has brought the news to the community. As he commented, the intention was to launch it during the first six months of the year, but the team needs more time to complete development.
No confirmed release date
“We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.”
Team Cherry has not announced a new release date, so we will have to wait until the studio has a ruling on it. The truth is that fans eagerly await every news related to the video game. It is not uncommon to read on social networks people speculating about the possibility of it finally appearing in every video game related event that is announced, whether it be Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo related.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The expected title will be available from Day One on the Xbox Game Pass service, as announced last June.
