'House of the Dragon': Bad news about season 3 premiere date
HBO prepping new ‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Off: ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ coming to platform in 2025.
Before the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ reached its climax, Max had already announced its renewal. The Game of Thrones prequel takes place during a terrible time for the Seven Kingdoms, an era of war and destruction. As the Targaryen family bleeds to death, dragons fly overhead, laying waste to everything in their path. Once skin and bones, now ashes. The dance of the dragons has begun and will erupt in the new episodes, but when will we get to see them? HBO has not announced a premiere date for Season 3. However, the start of filming is an indication of what will happen.
Barring a major surprise, the third season will not be released next year. Showrunner Ryan Condal has revealed that filming will begin in early 2025, which means it will take several months, plus the post-production process.
The second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ took two years
The track record also speaks for itself: we had to wait two years between the first and the second season, so it is very likely that the new episodes will not be available until 2026. However, fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire universe will not be left empty-handed next year. The new book in the saga, ‘The Winds of Winter’, may be in perpetual limbo, but next year will see the release of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, another ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-off.
‘House of the Dragon’ tells the story of a civil war within the ruling dynasty. When King Viserys dies, the court maneuvers to deprive the rightful heir of the throne. Aegon I Targaryen is crowned, and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen goes to war to claim her inheritance.
