How to download and when can you play Roblox on PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch?

Roblox is coming soon to new platforms like the PS4 and PS5, opening up its creation tools and community for many more players around the world.

Roblox is one of the most popular video games in the world, an online title that has an immense community of players and that will finally reach PlayStation consoles this October. It will be available on PS4 and PS5, a moment long awaited by fans of the game, who will now also be able to enjoy the almost infinite options that the title presents on Sony consoles.

When can I start playing Roblox on PS4 and PS5?

Roblox’s senior director Thai Bui confirmed last month that Roblox will release on the PlayStation ecosystem on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. This means that the game will be available starting today, and you can already go ahead and download the game from its PlayStation Store page directly from your PS4 or PS5.

Roblox did not have pre-load available, so any user who wants to play will have to start their downloads right now. There was no filesize disclosed beforehand, but the Xbox version is only 364.18 MB, so the PlayStation versions shouldn’t be much bigger than that.

Is Roblox releasing on Nintendo Switch?

For many years, fans of Roblox have been wondering if it will ever make its way to the Nintendo Switch. As of this moment, there has been no announcement or hint that this will ever be the case. Roblox is currently available on Windows, MacOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Roblox has also been announced for Meta Quest VR headsets, currently available as a beta app. During the announcement of the Roblox Open Beta, Roblox mentioned that this move " is a vital time for our developers to experiment, learn, and iterate on their VR experiences before Roblox is ready for full release on the Meta Quest Store,” they said. “Please note, the Open Beta will only support Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro devices.” While this is true for the Open Beta, Meta has also announced that they’re already working on making the title compatible with the upcoming Meta Quest 3.
