How to find and kill Bayle the Dread in the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
Dragons are a common sight in FromSoftware games, but few are as powerful as this optional boss found at the summit of the Jagged Peak in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
You may have killed all of the Elden Ring DLC Story Bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree, but have you also done it with the secret ones? Some are in plain sight, while others require thorough exploration of every corner of the Shadow Realm. One of the most difficult to find (and the most complicated) is Bayle the Dread. His name says it all, do you want to know where he is and how to kill him?
Dragon Pit Cave
The first thing of all is to go through this small dungeon, which you can access from the beggining if you know how to get there. It is a small cave with a couple of tunnels and several skeletal enemies. When you reach the bottom of it you will see a sort of shrine on the other side of a chasm, with a nearby message telling you to show no fear. You have to jump down there to reach the boss, and to open the way.
Ancient Dragon Senessax
When you reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak, you will see a hostile dragon at the bottom. You can decide whether to kill him or continue through the huge stone arch behind him. Whatever you do, after a long linear path you will reach an open area where two dragons are fighting. Again, you can intervene or continue running.
Shortly afterward, in a cave after climbing a hill where rolling rocks fall, the Ancient Dragon Senessax awaits you, a relatively difficult boss that you can optionally kill. Whether you decide to do it or not, your objective is to go up the tunnel at the bottom to the left. This is the path to Bayle the Dread.
