How to get all the Silent Hill 2 Remake main endings in a single game
Although you have to do several things and some are very far-fetched, it is possible to unlock them without completing the game three times.
“Maria”, “In Water” and “Leave” are the three normal Silent Hill 2 endings. Of course, all three are included in the Silent Hill 2 Remake, and completing each will earn you an exclusive trophy. Want to get your hands on the game’s Platinum, but you’re afraid to complete it multiple times in a row? Don’t worry, this article will give you all the information you need to get the three main endings in a single game.
If you want to unlock all three main endings in a single game, it is important that you choose the “Maria” ending first and perform several manual saves before the penultimate final boss. You can recognize the last save point by the fact that instead of one red sheet, there are nine of them, forming a huge square on the wall. Once you have that under control, it will be very easy to get them all in the following order.
“Maria” Ending
- When you are with Maria, you should talk to her as often as possible. For example, when she sees the dress in the hotel closet, or when you are at the Historical Society door, these are optional conversations. Then, when she is resting in the hospital, it is important that you interact with her several times. It’s best to talk to her every time you get a key item or solve a puzzle. The same goes for the Maze Prison.
- When you are with Maria and enemies appear, make sure she takes as little damage as possible. If she is attacked more than three times, load the game to replay the section and try to keep her intact.
- Do NOT check the following items in the menu: Mary’s letter, Angela’s knife and Mary’s picture.
- Before the final boss fight in the long corridor of the Lakeview Hotel, DO NOT listen to all the dialog. Just run to the end without stopping and go through the door.
- Kill the final boss.
“In Water” Ending
- Load the manual save you made at the last save point in the game.
- Check Angela’s knife in your inventory several times in a row.
- When fighting the two pyramid heads, let them wound you and don’t heal when the edges of the screen turn red.
- Listen to the whole conversation in the passage to the final boss. Stand still before going through the door until the dialog ends.
- Fight the final boss with low health (red borders) and kill him.
“Leave” Ending
- Reload the manual save described above.
- Enter the inventory to check both Mary’s letter and Mary’s picture several times.
- Listen to the entire conversation in the hallway leading to the final boss (if you’re at the door and it’s not finished, wait until there’s no more dialog).
- Defeat the final boss.
Remember that once you have completed any of these, you can choose the New Game Plus mode when you select New Game. In this mode, it is possible to access endings that are not available in the first round. MeriStation will publish an article about this soon.
