What is filler in an anime?

Broadly speaking, filler is considered to be any content that is not a faithful adaptation of the manga, so fans conclude that it is not necessary to watch every chapter of an anime, as some are not canon. In the case of ‘Dragon Ball Super’, the anime has approximately 17% filler, equivalent to about seven hours of filler.

The idea of watching it without filler is to lighten the viewing and avoid falling into the boredom that often stems from having to watch several episodes without anything relevant to the plot arc happening. In addition, it is important to know that ‘Dragon Ball Super’ can be lightened even more thanks to two movies that you can watch to replace a handful of chapters.
