A moment in the manga that hasn’t happened in many years.

Yoshihiro Togashi is one of the most influential manga artists in history, responsible for such landmark works as ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ and ‘Hunter x Hunter’, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998 and continues to be published to this day. The reason for its irregular release schedule over the years has been his delicate health, as the author has suffered from severe chronic back pain for some time. However, his latest post on social media has sparked optimism among fans of the series.

The most recent chapter of Hunter x Hunter to be published was Chapter 410, released in December 2024. In recent years, Togashi has been releasing chapters in batches of ten. While we await an announcement from the Shonen Jump editorial department regarding the release dates for chapters 411 through 420—which seems imminent—all signs point to the next batch, chapters 421 through 430, already being in a very advanced stage of production.

This is a dream come true for ‘Hunter x Hunter’ fans, as the potential release of 20 consecutive chapters is something that hasn’t happened in Togashi’s work for many years. A pace that wouldn’t have been possible without the help of his wife, Naoko Takeuchi, a highly acclaimed author known for ‘Sailor Moon.’ As a sign of this collaboration, Togashi shared an illustration featuring Kurapika alongside Artemis and Sailor Mars—an image rich in symbolism and inspiration for fans.
