If you buy the standard edition of GTA 6, you won’t have access to all of the game’s locations, Rockstar confirms

Some locations will be exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.

Update:

The GTA 6 frenzy is in full swing. On a random day in June, the game brought the internet to a standstill with its pre-order campaign, which will soon allow players to pre-order it for pre-loading on November 12—just days before its official release (including the “fake” physical version). But among these new developments are the contents of the Ultimate Edition, which have not gone unnoticed by fans.

These establishments are only open if you have the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6

Apparently, those who purchase the most expensive edition ($99.99) will have access to exclusive locations that won’t be available in the standard edition. Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, and One-Eyed Willie’s are all “open for business” if you have the Ultimate Edition.

Therefore, if you have the Standard Edition, when you visit these locations, you’ll see that they’re completely closed. Obviously, they contain cosmetic items and modifiers that are only available in the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar Games has decided to make the stores themselves unique, rather than including certain items in other locations that all players can access.

It’s a controversial move. It’s common for these kinds of “complete” editions to include cosmetic items that are exclusive to them, but that’s all they are—an accessory that doesn’t affect gameplay in any way. The shops, however, do. Imagine you’re being chased by the police and want to take cover from them. If you don’t have the Ultimate Edition, you won’t be able to. Or even rob them, if that were a possible in-game mechanic.

At this time, the price in the United States has finally been announced. The standard edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate edition is priced at $99.99. That’s a $20 difference, which may be a lot or a little depending on your budget.
