One Piece
Imu, the great villain, makes their voice heard for the first time in the One Piece anime, and the mystery continues to grow
A scene of enormous impact that ends with their first words.
‘One Piece’ continues to stand out in both manga and anime, and chapter 1,118 of its animated adaptation has left us with a historic moment. Imu, the most mysterious being in all of Eiichiro Oda’s work, has spoken for the first time, adding to the halo of absolute mystery that surrounds a character who has lived for many centuries and about whom very little is known.
A strange appearance that we can only intuit and theorize about, without even knowing to which gender they belong. Imu Nerona, one of the first twenty monarchs who founded the world government eight hundred years ago and currently sits on the Empty Throne, holding the greatest power and authority in the world. In short, Imu is the absolute monarch of the world, and their voice can be heard in this chapter in a very brief and almost distorted form, saying a word that is very associated with their character: Lily.
The mystery of Imu and its possible answer in the anime
Nefertari D. Lili, Queen of the Kingdom of Arabasta at the end of the Void Century and, like Imu, one of the twenty monarchs who founded the World Government. Imu’s obsession with Lili reaches into the present day, a character from whom the already known Nefertari D. Vivi, one of the most beloved characters in all of Eiichiro Oda’s work, is descended.
Who is Imu’s Seiyū (voice actor)? In “One Piece”, they pretend that the mystery remains absolute, and that is why the name of Imu’s voice actor does not appear in the credits of the chapter, putting between questions about his character. A few months ago, a name associated with the character appeared on IMDb, that of Takehito Koyasu, known for his role as Dio Brando in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, one of the most emblematic and charismatic villains in Hirohiko Araki’s work.
