inZOI’s first DLC will add a tropical dual-island map and deeper life simulation; full reveal set for Gamescom

Krafton unveiled Cahaya, a Southeast Asia-inspired expansion bringing fishing, resort life, realism upgrades, and a fresh roadmap for future content.

Update:

Krafton has officially confirmed that inZOI’s first downloadable content will be revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025. The free DLC features Cahaya, a dual-island map designed to push both visual variety and simulation depth. Inspired by Southeast Asian coastlines, Cahaya introduces new biomes, expanded activities, and emotional storytelling tools that could reshape how players build lives inside the sandbox.

What is Cahaya?

Cahaya is split into two distinct regions:

  • Nature Island: A lush area focused on self-sustained living with new mechanics like farming, fishing, foraging, and wildlife interaction
  • Resort Island: A modern tourism hub built for leisure, romance events, and social roleplaying, complete with hotel builds and freelance career opportunities

The map supports vertical terrain, water travel, and dynamic weather, making it one of the most versatile inZOI environments yet.

New features and realism upgrades

In addition to the new setting, players can expect:

  • Refined emotional response system, adjusting interactions based on weather, outfits, relationship status, and time of day
  • Expanded customization including new tropical build assets, clothing lines, and decorative items
  • Career additions like tourism and photography, usable on both islands
  • Updated relationship UI, tracking rivalries, friend groups, and romantic arcs with clearer indicators
  • Map-based storytelling, including zone-specific NPC scenarios with localized dialogue and memory tracking

Some of these additions are previewed in backend builds and datamined assets, including references to “rain apparel,” “hammock mood buff,” and “photo tourism quests.”

When and where

  • Trailer debut: August 19 at Gamescom Opening Night Live
  • Demo booth: August 20–24 at Krafton’s Gamescom pavilion
  • Release window: Late August 2025
  • Price: Free for existing inZOI players during early access

What’s coming next?

According to roadmap leaks surfaced by Simulation Daily, Krafton may be preparing additional themed maps for winter and urban lifestyles, including:

  • A multigenerational family map with heritage homes and aging cycles
  • A city nightlife pack featuring clubs, apartments, and underground story arcs
  • Pet systems teased through item descriptions like “island stray event” and “adoptable mood companions”

None of these are formally confirmed yet, but the DLC reveal at Gamescom is expected to hint at what’s coming through cinematic story previews and dev diary segments.
