iPhone 17 color lineup revealed, and one rumored shade might be Liquid Glass

Each model, base, Air, Pro, and Pro Max, will feature distinct finishes, with Apple reportedly shifting materials and design language to match its new iOS 26 aesthetic.

• Green (Pantone 2282 U)
• Purple (Pantone 530 U)
• Light Blue (Pantone 658 U)

iPhone 17 Air colors

• Black
• White (brighter and cooler than base model)
• Light Blue (Pantone 657 U)
• Light Gold (Pantone 11-0604 TPG “Gardenia”)

Apple is reportedly using lighter tones for the Air model to emphasize its ultra-thin design, which is expected to be just 5.5 mm thick and weigh around 145 grams.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max colors

• Black
• White
• Gray (similar to Natural Titanium)
• Dark Blue (Pantone 19-4025 TPG “Mood Indigo”)
• Orange (Pantone 1501243 TCX “Papaya”)

The orange variant is said to have a fluorescent look, while the dark blue may resemble the Blue Titanium from the iPhone 15 Pro.

The Liquid Glass rumor

A new leak from Weibo-based source Instant Digital suggests Apple may be testing a Liquid Glass-inspired color for the iPhone 17 Pro. This finish would feature a white base that subtly shifts hues depending on lighting and angle, creating a dynamic, refractive effect that mirrors the translucent UI elements of iOS 26.

While not confirmed, the rumor aligns with Apple’s reported shift to a glass-aluminum hybrid chassis, which could enable more complex visual treatments. Some accessory leaks have even labeled this finish as “Transparent,” though it’s likely a pearlescent or shimmering white rather than truly see-through.

Apple’s color strategy is evolving beyond muted tones and titanium textures. With the iPhone 17 lineup, the company is embracing bolder, more expressive finishes, and possibly tying hardware aesthetics to software design. If the Liquid Glass color makes it to launch, it could mark a new chapter in Apple’s visual identity.
