It’s Netflix’s best series about murder and David Fincher plans its return with a trilogy of movies
Fans were left wanting more after the end of the second season, and one of its top makers wants to give them the dream gift.

With an 8.6 out of 10 on IMDb, it can be said without fear that ‘Mindhunter’ is one of Netflix’s best series and one of the greats within genres such as thriller and crime drama. It consists of only two seasons aired between 2017 and 2020, and its showrunner, David Fincher (‘Zodiac’, ‘Seven’) explained why there will not be a third season. Fans accepted several years ago that it was all over, but now they are once again excited about the unexpected return of the series in the form of a movie!
Rather, in the form of a trilogy, as David Fincher plans to make up to three films about the series of two hours. This has been revealed by one of the main actors of ‘Mindhunter’, Holt McCallany, according to Variety. As the American actor says, he recently had a meeting with Fincher in which the filmmaker showed him his plans: “he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it’s just a chance. I know there are writers that that are working, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts.”
‘Mindhunter’, one of the best series on Netflix
Whatever happens with the movies, what should not be forgotten is that ‘Mindhunter’ is a must-see series for both Netflix subscribers and any lover of murder stories. The plot is set in the 1970s and follows two FBI agents who try to revolutionize police investigation with techniques designed to get inside the minds of all kinds of psychopaths and serial killers. It has a total of 19 episodes that are divided into two seasons, and the fact that it will not continue should not be an obstacle to enjoy one of the series in the history of Netflix.
