James Gunn reveals why finding the right comic-accurate Wonder Woman for the new DC Universe is going to be difficult

Is it possible to find an actress with the right stuff to portray a comic-accurate Wonder Woman alongside David Corenswet’s Superman? James Gunn doesn’t know.

Wonder Woman

Everything indicates that there are still years before we get to enjoy the debut of Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe by James Gunn. ‘Paradise Lost’, the series that MAX will produce in the future, set in Themyscira, will take place before the birth of Diana Prince, so the presence of the most powerful heroine in the universe is more than unlikely unless she appears while she is still a child. However, as part of the DC Trinity, Wonder Woman will be one of the pillars of this cinematic universe that has not yet begun, so James Gunn has to start looking for his Diana, although the producer and director recognizes that it will not be easy at all.

The most difficult casting for Gunn will be Wonder Woman

At the moment, the fan favorite is Adria Arjona (‘Andor’), but the actress is “only” 5′7. Diana Prince boasts considerable height, which is why some have asked Gunn about the possibility that she will be, like in most of the comics, even taller than Batman and Superman. Gunn sees it as practically impossible.

“How do you feel about this?” a fan asked Gunn on Instagram Threads, the social network most used by the director currently. “Not good. I don’t know where I’d find an accomplished and talented actress 6′5 or over”. In the same thread, another user asks him about the possibility of Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth in ‘Game of Thrones’. “She is still shorter than Corenswet,” Gunn confirms, as Christie’s 6′3, even being considerable, does not reach the 6′5 of the actor who plays Superman.
