Jeremy Renner wants to come back to the MCU as Hawkeye, with goals set in motion to do so

The actor behind Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thinks he’s 90% of the way to making a full recovery after his accident and wants to go back to being an Avenger.

A year ago now, actor Jeremy Renner suffered a terrible accident with a snow plow that almost cost him his life, causing injuries that kept him in bed for months, and then went through a long recovery process with rehabilitation that seems to be reaching its end. So much so, that the actor has already been able to return to filming the third season of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’, with a very clear objective for his career: recovering his role as Hawkeye in the MCU. He admitted as such in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, where he claimed that he is already at ninety percent of his physical recovery.

“I’m always game.I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready,” he said. “All those guys come to my bedside, and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so... if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.” Of course, it does not seem like it will be something that’ll happen soon since Renner still has to reach his best shape to play his superhero role.

“I got to set goals for myself. I’ll do whatever I can... whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger. The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There’s always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that’s what I look forward to.”

Recently we were able to see Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye in flashbacks from the ‘Echo’ series from Marvel Studios, scenes taken from ‘Hawkeye’, broadcasted in 2021 on Disney+. Will Jeremy Renner return in time for his possible appearance in the upcoming ‘Avengers’? What does seem plausible is that the character will make a cameo in future productions of the MCU.
