Jon Bernthal talks about the future of 'The Punisher' and his commitment to the character

The enormous respect and affection the actor has for one of the most iconic anti-heroes in comic book history.

One of the most popular interpretations of Marvel in recent times is that of actor Jon Bernthal as ‘The Punisher’. The two seasons of the series which originally debuted on Netflix in which he plays Frank Castle are considered some of the best that Marvel has released, and after the premiere of ‘Echo’, the company’s most violent series, many are dreaming of the return of the most brutal anti-hero.

The future arrival of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ could have the participation of Bernthal at some point, as we must remember he debuted during Daredevil Season 2, and the actor has very internalized the character, keeping a maximum respect and affection for it.

Jon Bernthal’s commitment to the cast is total, as he made clear in a chat with Collider: “”I think there’s a reason why that character has resonated as deeply and strongly as he has. In the hearts and minds of comic book fans and first responders and people in the military and people all over the globe. I think there’s a little bit of Frank Castle in everybody. He exists very strongly inside me and I care about that character deeply. I also know that it’s absolutely essential that if we do it, we do it right and we have real sacred integrity to the source material and to what is at the core of Frank. I’m gonna do my absolute best to make sure that, if and when we do it, we do it right.”
